On January 22, 2016, I submitted my official resignation letter to my boss, Barbara Najar, the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing at Chadwick School. I’m leaving my role as a multimedia producer to write and direct feature films and television full-time. Although I’ve pursued the craft of writing screenplays and directing short form films since I was 21, I’ve never written professionally. No one has ever paid me to write a feature film or television show or produced one of the many screenplays I’ve written.
I wish to use the additional time and creative energy available to me, now that I don’t have a day-job, to refine my craft and work professional as a feature film and television writer and director. I will use this blog to reflect on the process and share what I’ve learned with you, the reader. Today, I am 40 years old.
